WOMEN IN THE OUTDOORS COURSES:
Your paid registration fee of $25.00 includes: Lunch, snacks and the use of equipment, guns, and ammunition unless otherwise specified.
#1. ATV Safety:
This hands-on course will show you basic operation of all-terrain vehicles and safety practices. Bring a helmet, if you have one.
#2. Archery:
Learn the safe use and selection of equipment. Then try it out for yourself on the target range along with the chance to shoot the 3-D course. Bows are provided or you may bring your own.
#3. Handgun Basics: (1 workshop 11:00)
Thinking about buying a handgun for self protection? Want to learn target shooting? This course gives you hands on opportunity to get started in the sport.
#4. Hiking for Geocache:
Learn what is needed to safely take hikes in the wilderness along with basic survival skills. You will also learn how to use a hand held GPS, so be prepared to take a little hike and find some Geocache!
#5. Sporting Clays:
You will learn basic rifle techniques and be able to try your hand at sporting clays with the assistance of an instructor.
#6. Fishing Basics:
Participants will learn the skills and equipment necessary to begin fishing. Learn about the various species of fish, how to select equipment, knot tying, how to cast, how to reel that fish in once you hooked it, and even more important, how to clean them. Prepare to have fun!
#7. Hunting:
This informational course will emphasize safety and ethical hunting practices while learning scouting and various signs to identify wild game. This is a fascinating introduction to hunting in the Upper Peninsula; including the use of cross bows, muzzle loaders and the traditional hunting rifles. This session will also cover duck hunting with a dog and practical clothing and hunting rules.
#8. Self Protection:
You will learn effective and practical self defense for a wide range of situations including exercises that may save your life.
#9. Biking and Running basics: This workshop is intended to introduce and educate on a variety of outdoor activities and skills. This class is a great way to try something new or further your current skill set.
U.P. Raptors: (Lunch Time Presentation)
Learn about the rehabilitation of U.P. Raptors and meet some of the birds up close and personal.
Raffles available throughout the day, all funds raised will go to BBBS of the Bay Area.
Pre-registration is preferred by September 27; registration after this date or day of event accepted as space permits.

1:30-3:00 - Class 3
3:00-3:15 - Wrap up
3:15-4:00 -Raffles/Drawings/etc.
4:15 Announce Raffle/Drawing winners
