How we are funded
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area is a United Way Member Agency. The additional moneys needed to operate the agency come from a variety of sources. Several special-event fundraiser's bring in the largest part of the $250,000 needed to operate the program. In addition, the agency has developed Partners throughout our service area. Partners are businesses and organizations that make a specific annual donation to help us provide services to children in the community where they do business. Finally, the agency receives about 20% of its funding through various local, state and federal grants.
